The problem
They write at night and you answer in the morning
When someone writes at eleven at night and hears back at eight in the morning, they have usually hired someone else already. The message was not lost: on WhatsApp it sits there waiting. What happened is that they wrote to three businesses, and the job went to the first one that answered.

The problem is not losing the enquiry, it is arriving second
This is what makes it different from the phone, and it changes what needs fixing. A call you miss is gone. A WhatsApp message stays saved, and you will read it anyway: tomorrow, when you come down from the job, after dinner.
That is why the real problem never shows up in your inbox. It shows up when you answer in the morning and get back a «thanks, I already found someone». The enquiry was there. The answer was late.
The hours when most people write are the hours you cannot answer
People write to a service business when the problem shows up, not during office hours: the AC that died on a Sunday, the leak you notice at night, the estimate someone asks for before going to bed.
That is exactly when you are not available. Either you are on a roof with your hands full, or you are asleep because tomorrow starts at six.
Answering right away does not mean answering everything
Most first messages are the same five questions, and all of them can be answered with what you already know:
- Whether you work in that area.
- Whether you do that kind of job.
- Roughly what it costs, if you loaded your prices.
- When you can come take a look.
- What happens next, and what you need from them to give a number.
What happens while you sleep
The assistant answers those questions on the spot, using your business information and without making anything up. It takes the name, the phone number and what they need, and saves the whole thing for you.
When the question goes beyond what it knows, it says so and hands the case to you, with the contact already taken. In the morning you are not opening a cold conversation: you are opening a case with a name, an area and a phone number.

Other questions we get
- What if someone asks something it does not know?
- It says so and hands the enquiry to you instead of improvising. Before that it asks for the contact, so what reaches you is a case with a phone number, not a conversation that stopped.
- Does it answer on Sundays and holidays?
- Yes, at any hour and every day. There are no business hours to set up.
- What if I jump into the conversation myself?
- The assistant stops as soon as you reply, and picks up later. You will never have two of you answering the same person.
Ask it yourself, it is the same assistant
